Basic Structure
The MBBS programme is modular in nature and is structured in 3 phases:
BACHELOR OF MEDICINE & BACHELOR OF SURGERY (MBBS)
The AIMST University medical programme is modern and innovative. It is modeled on the clinically integrated curriculum followed by major medical schools in the United Kingdom and also incorporates local requirements stipulated by the Malaysian Medical Council. The 5-year programme is conducted entirely within the State.

Phase 1
 Integrated Preclinical with Year 1 courses which features Basic Medical Sciences, Society & Health, Biostatistics & Ethics in Medicine coupled with short interface with the hospital. Year 2 courses are dedicated to Cardiovascular Systems, Respiratory Systems and Gastrointestinal Systems, Renal Systems, Central Nervous Systems and Endocrine & Reproductive Systems
Phase 2
 The programme covers the Clinical Years 3 & 4 and is designated as Junior Clerkship. Year 3 covers Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics. There will also be integrated clinical teaching of Diabetes. Students are also required to complete one SSM in Year 3. Year 4 is essentially devoted to the coverage of Clinical Sub-specialties, Forensic Medicine and Clinical Laboratory Sciences. During this phase students will actively engaged in PBL sessions, symposia, clinical classes and self-directed learning
Phase 3
 Senior Clerkship years are where the students will consolidate the knowledge gained in Phases 1 & 2. Students will revisit and strengthen the skills in all the four major areas: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics

Entry Requirements

A-Levels

Grades B, B, B or A, B, C in Biology and two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics & Maths.

STPM

Grades B+, B+, B+ or A-, B+, B in Biology and two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics & Maths.

AIMST Foundation in Science**

Grades A, B, B in Biology and 2 of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics & Maths with a minimum total of 215 marks.
(Grades A & B refers to A+, A, A-/ B+, B)
(GPA for grade B must be at least 3.0)

NSW HSC / SIT Foundation / MUFY/CIMP/CPU

CGPA = 3.5
(based on 3 science subjects*, including Biology)

UEC

Grades A, B, B, B, B in 5 science subjects including Biology and following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Maths & others.
( For UEC qualifications grade equivalence are as follow: A:1,2; B:3,4; C:5,6; P:7,8; F:9)

SAM / UNSW Foundation

Grades A, B, B in Biology and 2 of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics & Maths.

Government Matriculation

CGPA > 3.5 with at least a grade B in Biology and any 2 of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry & Maths.

Diploma in Science / Microbiology Med. Lab Technology

CGPA = 3.0

International Baccalaureate

•  6 subjects, including 3 Science subjects* with at least 2 subjects at Higher Level.
•  Higher Level subjects should include Biology with at least 5 points in each subject.
•  Total points should be a minimum of 32, excluding bonus points.

Indian HSC / SSC

Grades A, B+, B+ in 3 Science subjects*, including Biology.
(A: 75-100; B+: 66-74; B: 57-65; C+: 50-56; C: 45-49; D: 40-44; E: 35-39; F: 0-35).

Bangladesh HSC / SSC

Grades A, A-, A- in 3 Science subjects*, including Biology.

Degree

Science-based undergraduate degree with CGPA = 3.0.

Other Qualifications

Will be assessed and referred to LAN for approval on a case by case basis.

Foundation from recognized IPT**

CGPA = 3.0 for Biology & any 2 of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics & Maths.

*Note: Science Subjects refer to Chemistry; Biology & Physics (does not include Maths).
**SPM: At least grade B4 in the following subjects- Maths, Additional Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
