FACILITIES

The multidisciplinary (MDL’s) pre-clinical laboratories set up at the temporary Amanjaya Campus are some of the best equipped among private medical universities in the country. Students work on cadavers in their anatomy classes in the first and second years. An impressive new state-of-the-art preclinical facility will be available in the Medical Building when the Semeling Campus opens in 2005.

Currently, an ultramodern skills laboratory is under construction for the benefit of second year students, one of the few possessions the medical school gains pleasure in displaying is ‘Harvey Manikins. Besides gaining basic clinical skills, students are given guidance in the Clinical Skills Laboratory in practicing methods in physical examination and history taking from day care and hospitalised patients. Medical students from Year 3 onwards gain an early insight in clinical and applied aspects of medicine by scheduled teaching hours at hospitals and through problem-based learning sessions facilitated by the multifaceted clinical teaching faculty.
