BACHELOR OF PHARMACY (HONS)
 

This program has been structured into 2 long  semesters and a short special semester for each year of study. Each long semester is of 14 weeks duration, while short semester is of 7 weeks duration. A comprehensive coverage is provided in the course of basic bioscience subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry and Microbiology as well as Pharmaceutical Technology, Medicinal Chemistry,Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.

The curriculum also includes elective subjects such as geriatric pharmacy, veterinary pharmacy, drug modelling, pharmacoeconomics and alternative medicine.

In addition to the technical subjects, students also compulsorily undertake University courses in the humanities and advanced English. Industrial  and Hospital  training are also essential components of the taught programme.

Following successful completion of the University programme, graduates have to undergo pupilage for 12 months in a Government or Private Hospital, pharmaceutical industry or pharmacy retail outlet recognized by the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia and also pass the Forensic Examination conducted by the Board before they are allowed to provisionally register and practice in the country.
