Introduction

The Centre is steadfast in its commitment to develop autonomous learners who are both mature and responsible. The Foundation Programmes equip the students with adequate subject knowledge and learning skills to confidently meet the demands and challenges of degree studies. To ensure a high quality programme, the Centre has an advisory panel comprising selected faculty members and external experts to assist in its curriculum development and formal assessment of its courses viz. English, Mathematics and the Sciences. The emphasis on the use of English as the medium of instruction aims to produce students who are confident and fluent in the language and, therefore, ready for the challenges of globalization. The Centre’s Foundation in Science and Foundation in Business programmes have won accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.

                                               In Centre for Matriculation and Foundation Studies, we are committed to the holistic development of our students. We strive to help our students to achieve academic excellence in a stress-free environment. There is constant support for our students from the administration and academic staff in both academic and non-academic matters. The close staff-student rapport is established through the mentor-mentee system, which is an integral part of the student support system at AIMST University. The intensive tutorial system ensures close monitoring of students’ progress. There is a wide range of services and facilities to support the learning process; these range from academic-related services to recreational activities. Besides that, getting to know other fellow students who are of different cultures and ethnicity is definitely an experience to look forward to.
