“Holding a degree in Materials Technology with
Management is like holding a master key to valuable safe deposit. This degree
enables one to enter various industries such as Electronics, Plastics and rubbers, Metals, Consultancy, Instrumentation
and many more. It also enables one to explore various departments in
industry such as R&D, Process,
Quality, Failure Analysis, Operation, Purchasing, Materials and so on. This is because; the course structure
itself was derived in a way that will benefit both students and industries.
The subjects offered are especially critical to industries such as Intel, Western Digital, AMD, Infineon,
Seagate and many other Multinational companies in Malaysia. AIMST’s Materials
Technology with Management degree is a sole
survivor in Malaysian Industry.”
Surentharan Murthi Specialist Engineer

“Currently I'm working in an examination
gloves manufacturing industry as a R&D
head researcher/chemist. We mainly manufacture NR, NBR, PB and also PU
gloves in very large scale and exporting about 80% of the gloves to countries
like USA, Germany, Italy,
Korea
and many more. First of all, I'd like to thank to the course (Materials
Technology) and the fantastic lecturers
there because they have provided the basic knowledge for me to work
in this industry. Subjects like polymer
chemistry, surface chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, ceramic
materials and some management stuff that I've learnt in that course really
helps me out in research. As a result, I would say Material Science is very
versatile course as we can gain lot knowledge there and be able to locate ourselves
in a range of manufacturing industries.”
J. Joshuaraj R & D Head (Researcher/Chemist) YTY Sdn. Bhd.
“The
Materials Technology programme is a dynamic programme which makes students
knowledgeable in a range of subjects on Metals, Polymers, and Electronic and
semiconductor materials. The fundamental
knowledge imparted through this course has enabled me to secure a job as a
process engineer. AIMST’s materials technology course equips students to
present themselves well technically and also builds up management skills. This
is a great advantage compared to other University graduates. I would say that AIMST University
has a very dedicated and experienced team of lecturers both from the academic
world and the industry which enables the students undergoing the programme to
be ready for the challenges ahead in the industry as well as being ready
academically.”

“Why should I choose Materials Technology with Management? I hardly see any
vacancy in newspapers for ‘Materials Technology Engineer’ unlike other
conventional engineering course? – This is what people think. My dear students,
please understand that Materials technology in particular will cater for semiconductor,
electronic, advanced materials,
optoelectronic, polymer, R&D etc. With this course we usually turn out as process engineer, FA engineer,
Mfg engineer, R & D engineer and
many more in all the above mentioned industries! Any questions regarding
this please contact me at 016 471 4400.”
