The Faculty of Engineering and Computer Technology (FECT) is a key faculty at AIMST with two closely interacting Schools, namely, the School of Engineering and School of Computer Science and Information Technology.

The graduates trained would be of a high standard and quality as dictated by an audit system for quality assurance which includes external examiners. This would ensure that graduates can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and technology. Besides the hard core engineering subjects that include recent advances in engineering in specialized areas, courses in management and entrepreneurship are also taught so that the graduating students would be better professionals and leaders in industry. The students will be exposed to professional work culture during the industrial training programme which is an integral part of the undergraduate curriculum. The ability of students to develop innovative solutions to problems that may be faced by them in their working life is fine tuned by their involvement  in a research project in the final year of their course. Two ongoing degree programmes are Electrical and Electronic, and Electronic and Communications Engineering with Honours. Honours degree programme in Civil and Mechanical Engineering are expected to be launched shortly.
