Benefits and Allowances

12.1          Personal Accident Insurance

 

12.1.1    All staff are entitled to the Group Personal Accident Insurance in accordance with the staff’s position as provided in the Schedule.

 

            13.2     Medical, Hospitalization and Surgical Benefits

 

13.2.1    All confirmed staff will be entitled for reimbursement of medical treatment expenses as per the following schedule per calendar year.

 

a.  SMPS1 – SMPS4                                       -          RM500.00

b.  TS1 – TS3                                                  -        RM400.00

c.  MMPS1–2; TS4–TS7; PMMS1-PMMS2  -                RM350.00

d.  JMPS1-JMPS4; TS8-TS10; PMMS3         -              RM300.00

e.  JMPS5-JMPS6; SSL; SSR; SSO; SST

     SSS; SSC; SSM; SSG                                -          RM250.00

f.   GSD; GSG; GSW; GSJ                              -          RM200.00

 

13.2.2    All staff including their spouses and children below 18 years of age will be entitled for surgical and hospitalization benefits under the University Health Insurance Scheme in accordance with the staff’s position as provided in the Schedule.

 

Those who for reasons of age or otherwise do not qualify for medical coverage under the insurance scheme, will be covered for their surgical & hospitalization needs by AIMST at anyGovernment Hospital in the country. A similar coverage will also be extended to their spouses and children.

 

13.3          Dental Benefits

 

13.3.1    Staff are encouraged to use the AIMST Dental Institute (ADI) for dental treatment. All confirmed staff will be reimbursed for the following dental treatments :

                  a. Filing                                    b. Extracting

                  c. Polishing                               d. Check-up and examination

 

13.3.2    All confirmed staff will be entitled for reimbursement of dental treatment expenses as per the following scheduled limits per calendar year.

a.  SMPS1 – SMPS4                                       -           RM400.00

b.  TS1 – TS3                                                  -          RM300.00

c.  MMPS1-2; TS4-TS7; PMMS1-PMMS2   -                  RM250.00

d.  JMPS1-JMPS4; TS8-TS10; PMMS3         -               RM200.00

e.  JMPS5-JMPS6; SSL; SSR; SSO; SST;

     SSS; SSC, SSM, SSG                                -           RM150.00

f.  GSD; GSG; GSW; GSJ                               -           RM100.00

 

13.4          Bonus              

 

13.4.1    All confirmed staff, while in service, may be considered for bonus during the beginning of each year.

 

13.4.2    The quantum of bonus payment payable shall be at the discretion of AIMST, taking into consideration the financial health of the institution.

 

13.4.3    Where a confirmed staff who has less than a full year’s service before the end of the financial year, his/her bonus entitlement shall be prorated according to his/her length of service.

 

13.5          Staff Development

 

13.5.1    All staff are eligible for training programmes that are related and relevant to their work and area of expertise at the discretion of the Vice-Chancellor.

 

13.5.2    AIMST will bear a portion of the total cost of the study / training programme.

 

13.5.3    Depending on the duration and cost of the programme the staff concerned will be required to sign a contract to serve AIMST for a stipulated period of time upon successful completion of the programme.

 

13.6          Mileage and Outstation Allowances

 

13.6.1    For approved outstation duties, staff will be eligible for toll and mileage claims reimbursed subject to the following rates :

Staff who are paid a monthly transport allowance are only eligible for petrol and toll claims.

 

13.6.2    Staff on outstation duties/ seminar/ exhibition/ promotions shall be entitled for per diem allowances/ claims subject to the following rates :

13.7          Conference Funding

 

Academic staff presenting papers at academic conferences may be provided with some financial support that covers registration fees, travel expenses, food and accommodation. Eligibility for funds and frequency of attendance will be based on the following terms:

i)   Funding up to RM1000 – staff eligible to apply once a year.

                        ii)  Funding up to RM2000 – staff eligible to apply once in two (2) years.

                        iii) Funding up to RM3000 – staff eligible to apply once in three (3) years.
