AIMST does not provide allowances/benefits for the education of expatriate staff’s children
AIMST will arrange and pay for the expenses incurred in securing work permits and extending of social visit passes for foreign staff in securing dependant passes for spouse and children
AIMST will pay for an economy class airfare direct from the staff’s country of origin to Malaysia to take up employment at AIMST and a return economy class airfare to the staff’s country of origin on completion of the employment contract.
AIMST will also pay economy class airfare for the staff’s spouse and unmarried children below 18 years of age from the staff’s country of origin to Malaysia at the commencement of employment at AIMST and on return to their country of origin for their first appointment. For staff whose contract have extended for a subsequent term, AIMST will pay for staff, 75% for the spouse and none for their children.
AIMST will pay the staff up to half of the first month’s basic salary as relocation allowance. This payment is made only to staff who report to work from their country of origin.
Foreign staff working in Malaysia and who take up employment with AIMST are not entitled to this benefit. This payment is a one-time payment payable shortly after the staff’s commencement of duty at AIMST. This benefit however will not be extended for renewed contracts
Contributions to the Employees Provident Fund does not apply to expatriate staff. However AIMST has a gratuity payment scheme for foreign staff i.e. 17.5% of their last drawn basic salary calculated for every completed month of service to be paid subject to satisfactory completion of the contract
Employment at AIMST is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Education and subject to successful application for a work permit from the Malaysian Immigration Department. Any offer of employment or renewal of contract will be considered null and void should AIMST’s application for work permit be not approved by the Malaysian Authorities
