DEEPAVALI CULTURAL NIGHT

On the 27th of October a Deepavali Cultural Show was organised by the AIMST Business Club. The objective of the cultural show was to bring students and lecturers together to celebrate the Festival of Lights. The event was celebrated for the first time in the form of an open-air concert in the Student Centre. Almost four hundred students including staff of the University attended the event. The Deepavali Cultural Night started at 7:30 pm with the arrival of the Guest of Honour Mr. Sandrasekaran, Deputy CEO/COO, and Senior Prof. F.C. Smales.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamps by Mrs. Devaki Sandrasekaran and Mrs. Selvamalar. A classical dance was performed by two AIMST students. Among the other items performed were a Chinese song and a fashion show. Besides performances by AIMST University students, two dance groups and a singer were invited to perform at the event.

The event ended at about 11:00 pm. It was a very successful event and had met its objectives. Students were all dressed up in colour and in glitter and this enhanced the festive atmosphere. We received a lot of positive response from the Deputy CEO/COO, lecturers and students. This event was starting point for AIMST University Business Club as well. We thank all those who sponsored, supported and participated in this event! , simple but so well organized. The students cooperated well and ensured that everything went smoothly!
