The Malaysian Medical Association to mark the Ethics Day 2007 will hold an essay writing competition open to registered medical practitioners as well as the medical students in Malaysia. The details of the essay writing competition are as follows:
The title of the essay for the doctors:
Traditional / Complementary Medicine: Possible Ethical Dilemmas.
The tile for the essay for the medical students:
Can doctors refuse to treat patients?
All registered medical practitioners (both members and non-members) are encouraged to submit their essays.
A processing fee of RM: 50 for non-members (for medical doctors). Please make out a cheque for RM: 50 payable to the Malaysian Medical Association and submit it with your entry if you are non members.
The following prizes will be awarded to medical doctors:
First prize: RM: 5000 and a certificate
Second prize: RM: 3000 and a certificate
Third prize: RM: 2000 and certificate

Second prize: RM: 2000 and a certificate
Third prize: RM: 1000 and certificate
Rules:
1. All participants for the essay competition involving doctors must be registered medical practitioners possessing a valid annual practicing certificate for 2007. The Medical doctors could be from any government private hospitals or self employed. Students could be any medical faculty of Malaysia from any year of study.
2. Essay must be in the English language.
3. The essay must be typewritten and must not exceed 1000 words.
4. Participants must provide a written signed statement that the essay is original.
5. All entries become the copyright of the MMA.
6. The decision of the judges is final.
7. Winning entries will be published in Berita MMA, as well as the English Newspapers in Malayia.
