The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Biotechnology is a multi-disciplinary programme that was designed to expose students to science driven knowledge and skills for various applications in the field of Biotechnology. In their first year, students are taught the basic and fundamental knowledge of biotechnology. In their second and third years, the students are exposed to the various sectors of biotechnology such as medical biotechnology, virology, food technology, bioinformatics, metabolomics, environmental biotechnology, cell and tissue culture, genetic engineering, aquaculture, crop biotechnology and forensic science. Students perform a final year research project with dissertation, which trains them on analytical skills, time management and working independently. A 12-week internship stint at the end of their third year provides students with the opportunity to train in an industry of their choice either locally or internationally.

Minimum Entry Requirements

| STPM or its equivalent | Pass with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one other subject. |

| STAM | Pass with a minimum grade of Jayyid, or its equivalent; and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject. |
| Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent | Pass with a minimum CGPA 2.00, and possess SPM with three (3) credits in Mathematics, one science subject and one any other subject. |
| A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in a related field | Pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 |

NOTE: International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS.
